Most of back injuries occur at work or practicing a sport. At work, most of the back injuries are caused by bad posture. This can be while sitting on your chair in front of the computer for prolonged periods of time or while carrying out physical activities. At sport activities, most of the injuries are caused by a poor or lack of warming or stretching the involved muscles.
Back injuries are particularly uncomfortable because the back muscles are required for many of our every day activities.

My back injury
In my case, I had a back injury very recently which was caused by practicing football (soccer). It was difficult to recover, my back injury was in the called lower back. It felt like a sharp needle when I did certain movements, most of them involving bending or reaching objects.
My injury lasted around four weeks. Sometimes it did not help sleeping in certain positions. The way I healed was with therapy. Stretching and working the back muscles and massage. I still need to do back excercises to strengthen my back. Stretching is very important as well as keeping a right posture when lifting heavy objects or when sitting at work. Even the positions for sleeping is important.
